Running Over (daily painting, surrealism)

Studio Painting
9 x12 inches
Acrylic on Gesobord
$320.00
Ready to frame

Just letting my mind wonder a little. I really love this concept, and the odd way the water is running over even though there is no flow into it. Combined a couple of different ideas with some photos to come up with this one. Makes me think of the Bible verse that says "my cup runneth over."

Love your concept here. The nicely rounded pot is almost typical of ancient water vessels. The porous terra-cotta along with the large interior helps keep the water cool and from evaporating entirely. Here the top of the typical water vessel is gone and the water, that would be so well kept in, is flowing out at the top. Sometimes surealism has a political intention.

Thanks for the added meaning! I was veryinterested in the smooth pot in front of the rocks and the water flowing everywhere. The pot was empty when I saw it, but in my mind I saw the water flowing out. . . It was fun to paint.
