Son shine, Impressionism Landscape, Daily Painting 9 x 12

"Here comes the Son shine"
9 x12 inches
Acrylic on watercolor paper

The back lighting was glorious as I came upon this one lone tree with a little bush catching the rays. Reminds me of how we have no light with out first having shadows in our life.

Eagle Bay Again, Plein Air Landscape, Daily painting

"Eagle Bay Again"
8 x 10 inches
Acrylic on Ampersand gessobord
$750.00

Got to go back to Lake Okeechobee today. The wind was calm with a cool breeze now and then. Started out just lovely. I love the colors of the grass, so I wanted to try to do it En Plein Air this time instead of working from a photo. Got this one painted quickly -- before 9:00 AM! By the time I finished the second painting it got very cloudy. it seemed surreal. I was up on the dike, looking out at Eagle Bay. The other side of the dike looked totally different. Gray and silver, with rays of light shooting through. I should have packed it up, but It was only 10:30, so I started a third . . . needless to say I got rained out!

Headed Home, Impressionism, Landscape, Daily painting

Title: "Headed Home"
Size: 8 x 10 inches
Medium: Acrylic on Ampersand gessobord
SOLD

This started from a photo I took out at the Adams Ranch in Fort Pierce, FL. But I rearranged the trees, and changed the colors. Now it is really just a place in my mind. It is a parable for the end of the day representing the end of life on earth, and the journey home. The two palms represent the gateway. I will probably add a little more to the trees in the background, I think they need just a touch of highlights.

Breakfast, Realistic Impressionism, Landscape

Title: "Breakfast"
Size: 8 x 10 inches
Medium: Acrylic on Ampersand gessobord
Sold

This is down at the boat ramp. Lake Okeechobee is low, so I was able to walk way out to the end of the channel. Took some good photos of all kinds of wildlife. Seems like early in the morning is the best time to catch everyone at the lake. Before the boats run them off.

Down Stream, Daily Painting,Impressionism, Landscape

"Down Stream"
9 x 12 inches
Acrylic on hardboard

Sold

This started out to be a landscape with very little water. I was using only the secondary colors (a triad color scheme) to begin with. But as I got farther away from the original idea I turned the painting up-side-down; the loose brush work just looked more like water than trees! So I began to play around with more intense contrast and more detail above the water and added water lines to break up the reflections further. I also added extra colors and let the painting take its course. I love the abstract look of the reflections against the realistic foliage.
