Late Lilies, pond, landscape, flowers
About This Painting:
Painted this lively little painting from photos I took last fall at White City Park. I played up the impressonistic look of it with all the small strokes of loaded colors. I was very interested in the way the lilie pads looked so blue where the light isn't hitting them.
Ready to frame.

Sunny Journey, glowing cactus, still life
About This Painting:
I have always loved the way the light reflects and bounces around in this painting! I was intrigued by the varying shades of yellow green and yellow orange that make it seem to glow. The shadows add to the effect also.
Enjoy!

New Hope, palette knife angel
About This Painting:
I really get lost in all these colors! I exaggerated the wings too, and kept everything abstract. Did this one a little while ago. New Hope for the New Year!
Enjoy!

Frosted Palms, Florida landscape
About This Painting:
We have had some hard freezes already this winter. On this particular morning, my car was iced over, and I don't even own an ice scraper to remove it from my windshield. I had to put the defroster on high heat to get a hole big enough to see through!
I saw this scene early that morning while driving just north of Okeechobee City, near Fort Drum, which is south of Orlando in the middle of the state. It was truly amazing! For the first hour of my drive everything was frost covered, and then the sun began to break through the patches of fog. Then everywhere the sun hit was a bright orange, and all the shadows were sparkling blue from the ice.
I used to live in Montana, so ice is not strange to me, it is just strange to see it on palm trees in Florida!
Thanks for looking!

Egrets and Woodstorkes, Florida wildlife
About This Painting:
Lots of birds in Florida this time of year! Great egrets, cattle egrets, herons, woodstorkes.....It is always so exciting to see them and take pictures of them. I painted this one from photos a while ago, but I have always liked the way it captures the feeling bird noises and flight.....
