Winter's Edge, Wildlife Art

Winter's Edge
5 x 7 inches
Acrylic on Canvas
Not Available

I was just playing with these soft colors in the grasses again. Actually it was a cow that I saw, but wanted to paint a deer instead. I painted this from memory.
I love the few months that we get some change of color in the winter. Most things are green most of the year down here. With the drought and a few cold spells the grasses right now are lovely.

Fall's Splendor, Realistic Impressionism, Eagles, Deer,

"Fall's Splendor"
12 x 16 inches
Acrylic on canvas

What a fun painting this one was! I have been wanting to go and see the colors change, but haven't had a chance yet. So I thought I would go there via canvas.

I have been working on this painting for the last three days. I used pictures that I took in South Carolina a couple of years ago. It was about 30 degrees, frost and ice were all around, but I went out and did some plein air work anyway. Good memories.

Ready to frame.

$575.00 (incudes shipping)

Silver Springs Doe, deer, Wildlife, Daily Painting

"Silver Spring's Doe"
9 x 12 inches
(ready to frame)
Acrylic on hardboard

This doe was fairly tame, and she would let people get close enough for photos. I tried to pet her but she moved away. She is one of the deer that the resort at Silver Springs had rehabilitated.

I just thought it was so neat that she came so close to me that morning. I put her in this setting, which I have painted once before. I tried to brighten it up as the morning colors were still a little on the dark side. It gives a nice mood to the painting though.

I created this painting from memory. It is a knife painting and is full of texture. I was experimenting with the thick and thin paint.

Surprise, Impressionism landscape, daily painting 9 x12

"Surprise"
9" x 12"
Acrylic on gessoboard

Sorry, this painting is not available
The seasons here are all mixed up. We have the gorgeous dead grass everywhere from the recent cold snap; 40 is cold for us! For several mornings it has been cold. But the afternoons have started warming up. So we have some spring colors arriving already too. The bright greens and the brown grass really caught my eye this weekend. Then the sun started going down and lit it all up. I added the deer because I kept looking for one to jump out across the field!
