Stormy Beach, palette knife seascape at sunset or sunrise

"Stormy Beach"

Bright loud colors! Really grabs your attention.
I saw this tall cloud the other day and wanted to put it over the beach.  Love the exaggerated colors and the way they reflect in the sand.

Palette knife painting has definitely become my favorite means of expression these days. Hard to go back to small brushes and details after watching the interesting patterns and swirls intermix with wet-in-wet paint. It is very exciting to see the colors mix, and then to be able to touch it and feel the texture on it after it is dry.

Heavenly Horizons, palette knife angel

"Heavenly Horizons"
About This Painting:
Started with purple and yellow, and then added some pinks and blues to help tie it together. I like the glow around the angel. Purple is symbolic for the unknown and spiritual realms. Yellow is symbolic for joy and enlightenment. This painting was done with a painting knife, giving it a unique texture and interesting effects. It was commissioned as part of a set.
Ready to frame.

Media: acrylic on hardboard
Size: 12 in X 16 in (30.5 cm X 40.6 cm)
Price: $375 USD

Eagle Bay Palm, plein air landscape

"Eagle Bay Palm"

About This Painting:
This is a plein air painting (out on location) that I did a few years ago. Eagle Bay is a large marsh next to Lake Okeechobee and it hooks up to the rim canal. Usually you can see lots of wildlife all around this area. I liked the way the palm tree just stuck out of the top of all the brush. I have just gone back and added more highlights, and some egrets too.
Ready to frame.

Media: acrylic on hardboard
Size: 8 in X 10 in (20.3 cm X 25.4 cm)

Smokies, mountain landscape, knife painting

"Smokies"

About This Painting:
Painted from pictures I took in the Smokey Mountains. We were up about 3,000 feet. I was amazed at all the colors even though it was foggy. The palette knife gives this painting a very rugged and wild feeling, which is exactly what I had hoped for!

Framed

Size: 10 in X 8 in (25.4 cm X 20.3 cm)
Price: $225.00

In The Light, abstract lanscape palette knife painting

"In The Light"

I have worked on this one off and on for a few weeks. It started as a very abstract palette knife painting and quickly became more representational. Love the thick textures in the grass! I added the angel in the middle of the sun for more interest....

Up the Creek Again

"Up the Creek Again"

About This Painting:
This is an older painting that is up for bid. I painted this from photos I took on Arbuckle Creek. Everything was so bright and sunny that day, I wanted to try to capture it. Good memories.

I had so much fun selling some things on eBay a few weeks ago that I thought I should try to keep a few going, kind of like a sales rack I guess! Let me know if there is something you would like to see posted there, anything $150.00 or less can be considered for auction.

Thanks for stopping by!
