Heaven's Glory, Jesus, lion, lamb

"Heaven's Glory"
© Fawn McNeill 2021

I'm not sure how to explain this painting.  I added so much symbolism but had so much uncertainty all at once as I created it.

Jesus is called the Lion of Judea in the scriptures, and he is also called the Lamb of God. (He was the final sacrifice, the only sinless person, spotless.  Yet he willingly took our sin.  The sacrificed lambs were innocent and carried the sins of the people away each year.)

Anyway, I was practicing for a large worship painting that I was going to do on stage in front of a large crowd.  But that never happened and this painting was put aside.  I was so disappointed, and I was not sure if it was finished, but I didn't want to change it because it was such a sacred experience while creating it.

The colors were spontaneous. It made total sense as I moved through the spectrum of energy and light.  I have not altered it.

I just wanted to share it.

Blessings to you for Resurrection Sunday!

Defender of the Weak, angel with sword

 "Defender of the Weak"
© Fawn McNeill 2019

Had just started experimenting with adding found objects to my paintings when I created this angel.  I used metallic gold paint, beads, and gems to give it stronger emphasis. This is part of a series of palette knife angels paintings I used to do quite often. painting with a knife creates unique mixtures of color and thick texture.  Exciting and fun!

Waiting Orders, Warrior Angel

"Waiting Orders"
© Fawn McNeill 2013

Just framed this one!  (See below).  This angel is painted with a brush instead of a knife.   Creates a more blended effect. Used a cool blue color scheme instead of the bold colors I often use with the palette knife.

I wanted him to look like he was finished with one assignment and waiting for the next.  I have always thought that I must have some very serious warrior angels looking out for me!

Acrylic on hardboard
6 x 6 inches
$175.00

This small painting is done on cradled hardboard, it is framed in an antique deep silver/gold frame. Ready to hang.  See below.

The Father's Word, Jesus

Created this one in oils years ago. The face in the sky is symbolic for our Heavenly Father speaking his timeless word, Jesus. This painting is now available in cards and prints! (Available with or without the scripture of John 1:1 printed on it. )

Enduring Love, Cross with a dove at sunrise

"Enduring Love"
© Fawn McNeill 2008

This is surrealism. Lots of symbolism too. The sunrise represents the new covenant,  and the crown of thorns is for the suffering Jesus bore for us to find healing and eternal life. The dove is for the Holy Spirit of Jesus Christ, who lives in us when we commit to living for Him.  (This is not the same as being religious,  but living day to day instead as He leads us. This is accomplished by His strength and power to overcome the hardships we all face.)

Painted this angel with a brush instead of a palette knife this time.  Wanted a softer look.  Love the color scheme.

One of Linda's Angels, palette knife painting

"One of Linda's Angels"

I believe we all have lots of angels looking out for us. Linda must have hundreds, because she was in a terrible wreck that she should not have survived. Her car was crushed by a big truck.

This painting is a reminder of the power of God to touch our lives and heal us, we just have to ask.

Heaven's Answer, palette knife angel

"Heaven's Answer"

I really wanted to emphasize that the focus is not on angels, they are God's messengers, they always remind us of Christ. The fallen angels will show up as lost loved ones and try to keep us from moving on. They will do anything to keep our focus off of our hope. If we aren't careful we can forget where our thoughts and prayers should be.
God asks us in His Holy Word not to grieve as those with no hope. We have the hope of a great reunion because Jesus gave his life for us. The Bible also tells us to count our trials as joy (in the book of James), and also to look ahead and not behind (Hebrews 12 and Luke 9). With His strength, and his power we can do the things he asks. Believe me, it is not easy! If you haven't asked Jesus in your life, then that is the way to find this inner strength and power that He wants to give to you.

Feel free to email me, if you have any questions!

Heavenly Hope, palette knife angel

"Heavenly Hope"

This angel reminds us that our hope is found in Jesus Christ. When we look to the cross and get our eyes off of ourselves, then we can find peace of mind and joy.
Joy doesn't mean that we have no pain, or that we are laughing and silly all the time, it just means that we are content and can accept the trials that come our way. We can thank our Father God and worship Him even in the midst of the trials. This is not for wimps! It is very hard to get your eyes off of what others have done to hurt you and forgive them, and it is very hard to sing and praise God when everything around you seems to be going wrong. Yet God asks us to trust him and believe that he will work it out for our good in the end. (James 1:2-4 and Romans 8:28)

Heavenly Horizons, palette knife angel

"Heavenly Horizons"

About This Painting:
Started with purple and yellow, and then added some pinks and blues to help tie it together. I like the glow around the angel. Purple is symbolic for the unknown and spiritual realms. Yellow is symbolic for joy and enlightenment. This painting was done with a painting knife, giving it a unique texture and interesting effects. It was commissioned as part of a set.

Endless Love, angel at sunset

"Endless Love"

About This Painting:
This one is not done with a palette knife like the other angel paintings I have been doing. It started as a sunset painting, and then I added the angel.
Sunsets, to me, are always reminders of God's creative nature, as if he painted the sky for us. It is also like a glimpse of heaven and His pursuing love for us. He does not give up on us, even when we so often go our own way.
Angel paintings are available by custom orders. They are each unique and very encouraging. It is exciting to hear how people are finding comfort and a touch from God through these simple reminders of His closeness in our lives.

Endless Life, palette knife angel

"Endless Life"
About This Painting:
Evergreen trees are symbolic of life, and angels are messengers from God. Through creation, we can see miracles and reminders that we are made to live forever. Our flesh will die, but our personalities and our spirit will live on. My prayer is that you have invited Jesus Christ into your life so your spirit is united with his, creating a new and unique spiritual being that will live with Him forever!
(Feel free to email me if you would like to know more about committing your life to Christ. This is not about religion, rules, or man's traditions, it is simply about accepting God's gift and love in your life. )

About This Painting:

Endless Healing, palette knife angel

"Endless Healing"
About This Painting:
My friend, a single mom with 3 small ones, was diagnosed with MS this week. I did this for her. I believe these paintings are like prayer cloths of the New Testament Church, when many found healing through the prayers passed along in cloths. To me these angel paintings are symbolic for God's touch, which we so desperately need each day.
I have heard people say that some paintings, landscapes and seascapes mostly, have brought them healing while they were on there sick bed. They could find peace and rest gazing at that painting until they were well again! What a wonderful thought! It really confirmed my beliefs about these angel paintings too.

Endless Grace Again, angels with doves, flowers, and harp in mountain landscape

"Endless Grace Again"

About This Painting:
I have been in heaven painting these angels! This is a commissioned painting, so it is already sold.
The number 5 is symbolic for grace. Each angel has it's own color, and symbolism as well:
The purple angel is pouring out God's love through His Holy Word
The Burgundy angel is pouring out flowers that never die, they carry God's forgiveness and are symbolic for the Blood of the cross.
The yellow angel with the harp brings healing and joy into broken lives.
The white angel is releasing doves, which are symbolic for God's peace and the Holy Spirit which He gives to us for power to overcome the trials of this sin cursed world.
The orange angel is sounding the trumpet call: announcing Christ's return, the beginning of a new heaven and a new earth!
