Heaven's Touch, seascape, horse and girl, 30 x 40

"Heaven's Touch"
30 x 40 inches
Acrylic on Gallery wrap canvas
(sides are painted)
$5,000.00

Detail:

I have been working on this painting off and on for almost a year now. It is all about contrasts and texture, as far as the technical aspects go.
This painting is far reaching too. Emotionally we all have things that need healing. Sometimes a sunrise or a sunset, a cup of coffee with a friend, or a moment of silence can touch us deeper than anything else at that time. This painting combines some of those ideas: dreams I have had, horses I have ridden, prayers cried out from the depth of my soul in my most turbulent times. Always God reaches out and heals the hurt a little more.

Thanks for stopping by!

Future Boss, calf, animal art by Fawn

" Future Boss"
5 x 7 inches
Acrylic on hardboard
SOLD

I was out of town yesterday, so this morning I took a good look at this little guy and made some adjustments. I added detail to the background, and I fattened up the calf some. I am satisfied with it now.

Meek and Powerful, Stallion, Abstract, Realism

"Meek and Powerful"
9 x 12 inches
Acrylic on canvas board
$575.00
unique custom frame

I like the contrast between the abstract background with the realistic stallion. A friend of mine breeds paints, This is one of her studs. Some of her horses have one or even two blue eyes.
Meekness is not the same as weakness. This stallion willingly submits his energy and power to his master. All of that is harnessed and used for remarkable feats. It is the same for living a Christian life.

Singing the Blues, Plein Air Painting

"Singing the Blues"
(Plumbagos)
8 x 10 inches
Acrylic on  hardboard

I have always felt like flowers sing their own silent song. Artists also sing silent songs. We pour out our colors and our soul for others to embrace or reject. We do not recieve the fame of singers and actors, yet we keep singing.

Enjoy!

Lavender Dreams, Impressionism Landscape, Daily Painting,

"Lavender Dreams"
8 x 10 inches
Acrylic on hardboard
Sold

This is a fantasy painting. I've been painting in my sleep lately and lavender seems to be the thing! This is the last painting of this series. I have had so much fun painting these last four that I went out this morning and did a plein air of the blue flowers in my front yard. You can see them at: http://southernpleinairpainters.blogspot.com/ or wait and I will post them here tomorrow.

Lavender's Sway 3, Abstract Flowers, Daily Painting

" Lavender's Sway 3"
8 x 10 inches
Acrylic on hardboard

Sold

While zooming in, I noticed how the light made these flowers look like squiggly blobs of glorious color, so I exaggerated the effect and had a blast with all that thick paint. I added the butterflies for contrast. This is one for EBSQ Art-- August Flower of the Month contest.

Lavender's Sway, Impressionism Landscape

"Lavender's Sway"
8x10 inches
Acrylic on hardboard
Sold
I painted this from a photo and rearranged a few things to make it into a stronger composition. I love the contrast of the bright tan hill against all that purple. I want to do some more of these plants, closer up. I really want to zoom in on them. We'll see! There is also a show coming up at (EBSQ Art) for Lavender plants, so this one should do well.
I love lavender, it has so many therapeutic uses. Did you know the oil made from it has many uses, and it has healing qualities?

The Real Deal, cowboy, daily painting

"The Real Deal"
5x7 inches
Acrylic on gessoed board
Not Available

Wanted to practice portraits. I usually struggle with getting a likeness. I built this painting up with thin layers of paint. This is a friend of mine, he is a true cowboy and has been all of his life. I tried to use colors that symbolize and emphasize his occupation. I think I captured him fairly well.

Early Prayers, Plein Air, Daily Painting

"Early Prayers"
8 x 10 inches
Acrylic on canvas board

Got up extra early to beat the heat. I like to get up before everyone, and have time to myself to pray, paint something, or read. What a beautiful sunrise! I really did not do it justice. However, I do like the vines growing on the palms. I painted it alla prima (all in one session), from my back deck.

Enjoy!
