Poem for Grandma Willi

Grandma’s Garden
Vegetable gardens
flower beds galore

Home cooked meals
very few chores
Horses to ride
Rocky Mountains to explore
Freedom to laugh, to run, to grow,
never any beatings to endure
Saddest days at summer’s end
when Grandma’s gardens are no more

By Fawn McNeill Barr
In memory of Willi Bassett (1919-2008)
