Ready, Set, Go! Calf in a field of dandelions

"Ready, Set, Go!"

About This Painting:
I just added this calf to an older painting. Always wanted to put something else in it, but never found the right critter. I saw this little calf get up and look back, and started snapping pictures of him! So cute! Finally, I had the perfect match....

Enjoy!

Red-violet Orchids, exotic floral

"Red-violet Orchids"

About This Painting: One of my husband's new plants is in full bloom. I just love the vibrant colors! Couldn't resist painting it up close.

I am working on a few larger paintings, so these small gems are nice to break it up and get something finished. I thought I would stop doing my small paintings for the most part, but I must be addicted to them. Once I decided to do more large paintings and stop doing these small ones, it was like saying you're on a diet and then eating everything you shouldn't!

Florida Sunshine, viceroy butterfly

"Florida Sunshine"

About This Painting:
Painted this from some photos I took down at the lake. The fruit was actually a load of grapefruits that a truck had lost on the side of the road. This butterfly was drinking nectar from one of the grapefruits that was busted open. It would flutter around and then come back for another taste. I was truly taken by the strong sunlight and all the bright warm colors!
Happy Easter!

Spring in Spring, landscape of flowers near a pond

"Spring in Spring"
About This Painting:
This little spring was aqua in color, and quite opaque too. It was interesting to me to see so many colors in one little swell of water coming up out of the ground!
This painting is not available, but I love to create custom orders for something similar, usually in a different size.

I Once Was Lost, piglet and calf

"I Once Was Lost"

About This Painting:
I saw this little wild hog following the calf around again and again, even though the mother cow kept chasing the piglet off.  The piglet would squeal and run away and then sneak back... It cracked me up!

I really enjoyed all the hours of detail in this one.

Grandma's Touch, mountain landscape with flowers

"Grandma's Touch"

About This Painting:
This actually began as a demo, then later I changed the color scheme and added more flowers and trees.... It reminds me of my grandmother's rock gardens in Montana. She loved working in her gardens. Some had flowers of every kind, and others had vegetables and strawberries. My fondest memories of her are when she taught me how to thin out the carrots, and to taste the difference in food you grew yourself compared to what we bought at the store.
Thanks for looking!

"Fall Colors"

Little watercolor study of the colors of fall. Something I saw in California in Oakview. The sun wasn't out much that day, but when it came out everything was so bright and colorful in this one little area. I took pictures of it from different angles.

No Rush, Abstract art

"No Rush"

About This Painting:
This painting is all about joy and the celebration of color! It is the third in this series of fun little color studies. The greens look like cool hues against all those warm yellow-orange hues. I used Cadmium Yellow Light with the greens and Cadmium Yellow Medium with the oranges. Used some white to exaggerate the bright feeling I wanted.
Ready to frame.
