About This Painting:
One of my favorites. Lots of symbolism here. The cattle are a memory of the horses old job. He is headed for the shade of the trees to rest and enjoy the day. The end of summer is for the last season of life. The peaceful glow in the water and the hidden bird is for the new life that is found after this one.

I was inspired from a camping trip, I went for an early walk and came across this scene.  I combined several pictures of this area to get a stronger composition.

This is an award winning painting.  It continues on the sides, so framing is optional.

Summer Memories, landscape, path with a wooden Gate

On The Edge, landscape with deer

Went back and strengthened the shadows and some of the colors in this older painting, and added the doe. Always felt like something should go in the opening. I originally painted this one from pictures I took out painting on location. There were lots of deer in the area, but my photos of the deer didn't turn out very well. I created this doe from memory.

My brother lives near Glacier National Park, and I love it when we go up in the mountains. I take tons of pictures!

Took pictures of this great egret on a foggy morning while I was at Lake Okeechobee. We were in a drought and the grasses and weeds had taken over. This whole area was usually under water! I was attracted to the contrast of the orange bushes and the green grasses.

Watched the sun come up through the fog. Painted this a while ago from photos I took. I did the whole thing in layers, adding the fog over each section, it was quite challenging to get the effect to look right.
