Inside Out, colorful abstract

"Inside Out"

About This Painting:
Inner space, outer space? Sunset, sunrise? This nonrepresentational painting can be anything you want it to be.

For me it is symbolic for mixed emotions. They get all tangled up and twisted inside me until I am exhausted. I love deeply, so I hurt deeply. I don't want to be numb and uncaring, so I have to accept the anguish with the joy. Sometimes I just have to get it out, and this time it all swirled together in a very fulfilling expression of my opposing feelings.

This is just one of the many enchanting views I saw at the Little River Ranch a couple of weeks ago. (Near the Kissimmee River. ) The morning light was shining through all the trees and seemed to dance around in a delightful display of contrasts and colors!

Rollin Through, mountain landscape with barn

"Rollin' Through"

This is an older painting that I started as a demo last year, but I never finished it until now. 

I remember watching the clouds roll up the mountain sides when I was 12. I lived in Montana with my Grandma Willi. This road reminds me of some of the old mountain roads my friends and I rode horses on up in the Rockies. We would go exploring and often find an old abandoned barn, usually in much worse shape than this one!

About This Painting:
I painted this from pictures I took of this pond out at the Little River Ranch, which is near the Kissimme River. A friend of mine owns a hunting camp out there. It is so far out in the country that I thought I would never find it! I went last week and was just stunned at all the old grandfather oaks. I hope to do a series of paintings from this ranch, hopefully some from plien air as well.

R.C.'s Poncho, horse portrait

"R.C.'s Poncho"

About This Painting:
R.C. was killed last year in a car accident. He was just 21 years old. This is his horse, Poncho.

R.C. was a guide for hunters at an exotic wildlife ranch, and Poncho was his partner. Poncho stood in the front, near the coffin, during the whole funeral service, which was held in the large hanger at the ranch. There was standing room only with over 500 chairs.

R.C. went to school with my son, Kyle, and was an outstanding student His smile and encouragement touched everyone he encountered. He knew no strangers and went out of his way to make anyone feel accepted. He is greatly missed.

Endless Grace Again, angels with doves, flowers, and harp in mountain landscape

"Endless Grace Again"

About This Painting:
I have been in heaven painting these angels! This is a commissioned painting, so it is already sold.

The number 5 is symbolic for grace. Each angel has it's own color, and symbolism as well:

The purple angel is pouring out God's love through His Holy Word

The Burgundy angel is pouring out flowers that never die, they carry God's forgiveness and are symbolic for the Blood of the cross.

The yellow angel with the harp brings healing and joy into broken lives.

The white angel is releasing doves, which are symbolic for God's peace and the Holy Spirit which He gives to us for power to overcome the trials of this sin cursed world.

The orange angel is sounding the trumpet call: announcing Christ's return, the beginning of a new heaven and a new earth!
