Mural, right side in progress
Got a lot done, I should finish it this week. I have about 44 hours in it now. I will try to get better pictures all the way around when it is finished. between the glare of the windows and the shine of the paint, I am not doing so hot on photos. The house is still under construction which makes it great for not messing up floors or anything, but there is no electricity so I can't block off the windows to take the pictures! After the house is finished I will come back and get some photos for my portfolio.

Mural in progress, horses, butterflies, angels and a bunny!
I moved the front legs farther to the left and made the neck a little shorter to give Rachel's horse better proportions. (See the image below for a comparison). I am close to getting the left side done. The sky goes across the top of the window, and the grass under the window is full of flowers and butterflies. Hard to get a good photo with the window glaring on the camera.
There is an angel in the sky above the oak tree, and a bunny in the grass, along with flowers and butterflies. Too cute! The edges will soften into the pink walls.
This is the first lay in. The colors are off a little and so are the proportions. There is an angel in the sky above the horse. Click on the image to see it closer.
This mural is 13 feet, not including the window!
I am enjoying this project. I go to the ranch house about three times a week all day. So my Daily Paintings are not getting done everyday for now. I will try to keep two or three new small works posted each week, so please keep checking back!

New Start, morning fog
8 x 10 inches
acrylic on canvas
Ready to frame
Went out to the ranch were I have been working on some murals, and the time change had me there at sunrise. It was amazing to see the mist and the sun coming through it. It was like being on another planet, or at least in another state! It was cold and breezy and there was patchy dense fog all around. So today I had to paint it!

Purple Passion, orchids, Daily Painting
5 x 7 inches
Acrylic on canvas
NOT AVAILABLE
These orchids were in full bloom, so I set them in my studio and had fun doing this painting alla prima (all at once). I tried to capture the excitement with the busy background and then added the flowers quickly on the wet paint.
Enjoy!

Stone Bridge 2, Daily Painting
8 x 10 inches
Acrylic on Canvas
SOLD
Working from a photo I took last year at McKee's Botanical Gardens when I did some plein air paintings.
The first painting is from the front view, focusing on the walkway. I like this side view with the reflections in the water.

J & S, plein air painting
8 x 10 inches
Acrylic on hardboard
(ready to frame)
Got to go out to J & S Fish Camp in the evening yesterday. The rim canal is off to the right and Lake Okeechobee is over the levee. I saw this little muddy path with the palms and thought how perfect of a composition that it would make! I used a simple palette with very few colors to give it more harmony.

Combined different photos to compose this painting. The main image came from McKee's Botanical Gardens, where I painted en plein air last year. I added the koi for movement and color.

Compliments, Abstract Art
9 x 12 inches
Acrylic on hardboard
(Ready to frame)
This palette knife painting started as a color study of split compliments. Yellow, with blue violet and red violet. It quickly became an explosion of contrast and color! It reminds me of looking out through a glass window while it is raining. These are fun to do and you never know what you will get.

Morning Breeze, seascape
5 x 7 inches
Acrylic on canvas panel
Just a fun little painting. I made this one up from memory. I wanted to play around with that impressionistic look, reminiscent of Monet and Renoir.

Summer's End, Painting Demo
10.5 x 15 inches
Acrylic on watercolor paper
This is a painting I did for a painting lesson. I changed the colors and moved things around some, but the inspiration is still from a book. Non the less, I think it turned out nice.

Formal Attire, Great Blue Heron
5 x 7 inches
Acrylic on canvas
SOLD
This is a take off from "Shore Bird" ( tricolored heron) that I did last week. I changed the background and did it on a smaller support. This painting is of a Great Blue Heron, which is the largest of the herons. Its markings are black and burnt orange, instead of white. The great blue heron also has one of the largest ranges of population from the east to the west coast of North america!
